BroBattle Dope! or Nope system.

leave a comment »

Dope! or Nope is a new system that enlists the community's help in presenting battles. Members post this or that picture battles, of college humor, hot girls, and more seeking a critical mass of community support in order to get featured on the home page. The Brobattle picture battle game also helps bros get feedback to make tough choices on what kinds of battles appeal to the Brobattle community.

The Dope! or Nope system organizes content based on ratings by the community. The community decides what content should be featured on the site.

What happens when I submit my this or that picture battle?

As soon as you post your battle, it will start showing up for the community to review. Come back often to respond to community feedback, answer questions, or post follow-up battles.

How many points do I need to use the Dope! and Nope buttons?

First, you need to have achieved at least level 3 (Brother) in the Brobattle game. You do this by visiting the site, logging in, voting on battles, creating new picture battles, and commenting on other users' battles. Just use the site. You earn points for almost everything you do on the Brobattle.com site (see: Brobattle Point Scoring).

For every point you earn, you also earn Brobucks. You can use your Brobucks to cast Nope or Dope! votes.

You are allowed to spend your Brobucks to Dope! your own battles, to push them onto the featured battles home page, but you don't earn any direct points by doing that. You could cast a Nope vote on your own battle too, for that matter... but who would do that.

What are the guidelines?

This is Brobattle, bro. We really don't have many rules. If you think a battle is dope, slam that Dope! button. If you think it sucks, put your Brobucks to use and click Nope.

How do I get my battle featured so it appears on the home page?

leave a comment »

You've posted your Battles to Brobattle and now you want to know how to get them to show up on the home page.

Here's how. Use the Dope! button. As you surf and interact with the Brobattle game, you earn points and "brobucks" - you can spend some of your Brobucks to give your battle a Dope! vote which will promote your battle on the home page, as a "featured" battle. The more your battle is featured, the more hits it will get and the more chance for votes, and comments, and maybe even more Dope! votes from bros who like your battle, all adding up to more points for you.

You can Dope! your own battle or someone else's battle. When someone drops Dope! brospect on one your your battles, you earn points (and more brobucks).

Be a bro and Dope! a bro's battle and they might return the favor - it's a win win, bro.

leave a comment »

It is easy to join and creating battles with pictures or images is very easy, with built-in image search.

You start to earn points quite quickly and before long you move up in the rankings.

The quickest and best way to move up the rankings is to spend time on the site voting on battles, creating new picture battles, and commenting on other users' battles.

Points are scored each time you vote, comment, or create a battle. You also score points when other users vote or comment on your battles. The higher their rank, the more points you score when they vote on your battles. Points are also awarded for other actions, like confirming your email, connecting your Twitter or Facebook, and many more.

Point Scoring

  • Register on the site
  • Confirm your email
  • Link your Facebook
  • Link your Twitter
  • Vote on a battle

Bonus points are even awarded just for signing in and returning to the site.

Brobattle - Post a new battle, step by step

leave a comment »

It's easy to add your own Brobattle picture battle to Brobattle.com. You can do it using your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Android device. You can also use a plain old laptop or desktop computer if you prefer. Tap the MENU button and tap New Battle

There are three main steps, as shown below:

Step 1: First Contender, Step 2: Second Contender, Step 3: Title and Category

Each of these steps will be described in more detail below

Step 1: First Contender

Start by providing a name for the first contender in your battle, describing what the picture represents. In this example, we have entered "fail whale". The next step is to put in keywords to find an image for the first contender. When you tap "Go" a set of images based on those keywords will be shown (an image search). Simply select an image that you like, and tap the "Use" button as shown below:

Step 2: Second Contender

Repeat the steps above for the second contender in your battle. We entered the text "punch in the face" and selected the image shown below:

Step 3: Title and Category

Use this screen to finalize the battle title and choose any category, or categories, appropriate for this battle. BroBattle automatically sets the title to the name of the first contender vs the name of the second contender, or in our case "Fail whale vs. Punch in the face." You can either accept this title or make it whatever you want; put it in the form of question, or whatever makes sense for the battle you've created.

This step is also where you can select categories that make sense for this battle:

The final step is then to simply confirm and save.

Done!

Because we split the steps out in such detail above, it may look like a lot of steps, but really when you go through the steps, it is quite quick and easy. It's one of those things that's actually easier to do than it is to describe. And after you have created your first battle, the pieces will fall into place.

And here is the final result:

Remember to follow our simple rules:

  1. No porn or nudity
  2. Nothing illegal
  3. No personally identifiable information
  4. Nothing that might in any way be defined as 'spam'
  5. Don't post or do anything that harms or disrupts the BroBattle service

Thanks, bro!
